Episode 53: The 5 Most Powerful Leadership Lessons From Atomic Habits
Over the last 32 years, I’ve read a lot of great leadership books. In fact, I made a Top 10 list of leadership books and you can check those out at www.theprivateschoolleader.com/top10
#4 on that list is Atomic Habits by James Clear. This is a very special book and a very important book for private school leaders.
James Clear’s book emphasizes the importance of small, consistent, incremental progress and provides actionable advice to achieve lasting behavior change.
On today’s episode of the PSLP we are going to look at the 5 Most Powerful Leadership Lessons From Atomic Habits:
- You do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems.
- Every action you take is a vote for the kind of person you wish to become.
- You should be far more concerned with your current trajectory than your current result.
- It is so easy to overestimate the importance of one defining moment & underestimate the value of making small improvements on a daily basis.
- You don’t have to be the victim of your environment, you can also be the architect of it.
We will discuss how these powerful lessons can make you a more effective leader at your school.
Thank you for taking me along with you when you are walking the dog, driving to school or running errands. I appreciate you and what you are doing for the lucky kids and teachers at your school.
